EPIC MTB
XCO NPS # 6 is in Djouce woods, starting and finishing in the 2nd Carpark on the Long Hill road, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow
Featuring a course designed by top masters Riders Damian Mulchrone (EPICmtb), Joe McCall ( team-Rocky Mountain) and inspired by Olympic MTBer Robin Seymour ( Singletrackworld, etc.)
Starting from the Car Park the riders will go full tilt towards Ecstacy , for those of you who don’t know them, the berms of Ecstacy were handcrafted out of the Wicklow dirt and have to be ridden to be believed.
From the bottom of Ecstacy, the riders will motor up the forest path, big rings and heads down to where they dive into a steep old skool section of track, the steepness tamed by a few switchbacks. Then rightwards along tight singletrack where the track dives down an earth bank to the fire road. From here a sprint will take you up to the start of another incredible section of track known as Benchcut, to describe it wouldn’t do it justice. But try to imagine a trail built by the Gods..
From the bottom of benchcut, its onto another double track stretch and another head down big ring climb, which rapidly turns into a deadly singletrack climb, another drop on to the fireroad and its off we go again left and up another technical climb towards the dry lakes, scoot around the lakes and its hammer up the forest path..
This twists its way to an open section where you take a left down some single track and back across to eventually join the track that leads back up to the car park..
The track is well used, sheltered and built by experts, its in a fantastic location close to Dublin City and easy reach of the M50.
The Categories and entry fees as usual. Laps will be decided on the day as we all know the weather can make a big difference.
