K Capital Cup Round 4 Castlewellan Forest Park County Down - April 22nd Designed by the legendary Robbie Lamont (XMTB) and one of the most popular courses on the Irish MTB race circuit, the final K-Capital Cup race venue has been tweaked to include new sections of single track and less climbing (only kidding!). With the recent spell of dry weather and a good weekend predicted the course is in excellent race condition thanks to the careful attention the XMTB build team. A classic 4.86km fast forest course with the infamous double kicker gravel climb straight from the out (climbing 100m in the first 1.3km), sections of technical and flowing single track descents and a beautiful lake setting all combining to create a challenging course for all competition levels. Sign on and Start/Finish is located at the west end of the Castlewellan Lake situated in Castlewellan Forest Park (follow signage from main forest entrance). Competitor only parking is available at the course – inform the forest warden on entry that you are racing – see course map link below for full details. Timetable: Saturday 21st April 1pm-4pm Pre ride practice Sunday 22nd April 10am Sign On 12am Sports/Underage races 1.30pm Elite/Expert/Junior/Master/Veteran Course Map (PDF): www.xmtb.co.uk/images/CW-R4.pdf Elevation Profile (PDF): www.xmtb.co.uk/images/r4_elev.pdf GPS Course info: trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2447813 K Capital Cup Home Page : kcapitalcup.com/

Not too sure how many laps are required this time round, but going on last year's race, it was 2 laps for the sports, Experts/Masters/Elite Ladies were 4 laps, Vets/Juniors? 3 laps. So maybe (hopefully) same this time around, I'm sure Robbie could confirm this. C
